Guest Speaker: James Flores, Director of Manufacturing Technology Integration — Airplane Programs and Supply Chain
Bio:
James Flores is a Director of Manufacturing Technology Integration, Commercial Airplane Programs and Supply Chain for Boeing’s Research & Technology division. His team develops and integrates technology solutions to commercial airplane products and production systems in the areas of Materials, Process & Physics. James’ 23-year continuous learning journey at The Boeing Company has provided him with experiences within all commercial aircraft product life-cycles and learnings in structures, interiors and production systems.
Previous assignment was as a member of the Productivity Leadership Development Program for 777 Factory Transformation in Everett, WA. His team was responsible for defining, designing and implementing the necessary tools and equipment that enabled and prepared the 777 Final Assembly Manufacturing Business Unit (SI/FBJ/FA) for 777X aircraft in 2018.
Prior senior engineering leadership roles held were as the VC-25B Interiors Integration Leader, KC-46 Interiors Integration Leader, 747 Interiors, and 787 Wing Structures where he led technical teams in non-recurring, production support and fleet support work statement.
James is married with two teenage kids living in Snohomish, Washington. He grew up in northern Illinois with a few years in Guadalajara, Mexico. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UIUC and an MBA from University of Washington. He and his family enjoy traveling and watching their favorite Seattle and Chicago sports teams. They currently are on a journey to visit all the MLB ballparks.
